Shipt is seeking a freelance photographer responsible for styling, shooting, and delivering photo assets remotely. This is a freelance role, we hire on an as-needed basis for the photo studio. This position requires someone with very strong aesthetic sense, an eye for design, and the ability to tell stories with visual narratives. Candidates must be familiar with the intricacies of high volume photographic production, be able to meet deadlines for multiple projects simultaneously and be flexible to the ever-changing environment of a fast-growing company.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Execute the highest level of standards by setting up lighting and maintaining correct composition, color accuracy and exposure for each shot to match brand standards.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills – able to self-prioritize projects, workflow and schedule.
• Maintain digital naming conventions, file management. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, take direction, receive feedback, and execute accordingly.
• Receive and return product and props for shoots.
• Style and set up said product and props. 
• Demonstrate expert lighting techniques with the intent to highlight the characteristics of various merchandise categories.
• Collaborate with a creative team on best practices for using photography in marketing materials such as emails, landing pages, social media campaigns, direct mail, print advertisements, and within product.

REQUIREMENTS

• At home photo studio or space to shoot laydown product photography equipped with Profoto studio lighting or equivalent.
• Flexibility with schedule and can work on an as-needed basis.  
•  5+ years commercial photography experience in a high-volume production studio.
• A professional photography portfolio that demonstrates an expert-level knowledge of digital photography, including lighting, composition, color quality, and aesthetics across an array of client environments.
• Expert-level proficiency with the current industry-standard software tools in Capture One,  Adobe Photoshop, Bridge and/or Lightroom
• Familiarity with all aspects of digital image quality and output: File size, light and color balancing.
• Great communication skills with the ability to work within cross-functional teams, and able to give and receive feedback well.
• Strong project management and organizational skills that keep project files organized, tagged, and available for other team members.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment, with aggressive timelines while still paying attention to details and executing flawlessly.

• Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a sense of humor. 
• Food and product styling experience
• Experience with project management tools like Wrike.
