Shipt is a membership-based marketplace that helps people get the things they need. Our friendly shoppers handpick fresh groceries and household essentials and deliver them to members in as soon as one hour. WHAT DOES DATA ENGINEERING DO AT SHIPT?

At Shipt, we work at the intersection of a multi-sided marketplace and we're looking for help collecting, processing, and understanding data collected across this complex marketplace. 

Our team tackles a wide variety of projects, ranging from developing data pipelines that ingest and merge content from several disparate sources, to incorporating new logic to bring consistency and quality to our massive product catalog. Our ideal candidate will be data-driven, intellectually curious, and a clear communicator.

WHAT YOU'LL GAIN 

Our team is growing and we're looking for a Data Engineering Intern. You'll dive into some of the company's most interesting data challenges and help the company make advances with our data infrastructure. This is a paid, full-time internship.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with Data Engineers to identify data issues, explore potential options, and write clean code as a solution
• Learn cutting edge technologies and processes to solve complex problems using modern languages and techniques
• Work on customer facing features, services, and capabilities
• Design, improve, and document processes

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 3.2 GPA 
• 2+ years of relevant school or work experience
• Experience analyzing data using SQL and Python
• Passion for solving complex real-world problems with data
• Willingness to collaborate and communicate with others to solve a problem
