Role Overview
The Shop Ambassador – Production Operations is a hands-on, shop-floor–based role focused on ensuring manufacturing systems and production software are used correctly, consistently, and efficiently within assigned departments.
This role serves as the key bridge between production teams and internal technology teams, helping identify issues, communicate needs, support system rollouts, and keep daily operations running smoothly.
This is not a programming role, but it does require someone who is tech-savvy, highly communicative, and comfortable working directly on the production floor with operators, supervisors, and managers.
Key Responsibilities
• Own day-to-day use and support of production systems on the shop floor
• Act as the primary point of contact for system-related questions and issues
• Identify, document, and communicate system gaps, issues, and improvement needs
• Support testing, rollout, and adoption of system updates and enhancements
• Help prioritize production-impacting issues versus long-term system improvements
• Train and support operators and supervisors on correct system usage
• Ensure production data is accurate, reliable, and consistently captured
• Work closely with Operations, IT, Software, and Engineering teams to resolve issues
Qualifications
• Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
• Strong understanding of shop-floor workflows and processes
• Comfortable supporting, training, and guiding operators and supervisors
• Clear communicator with strong organizational skills
• Detail-oriented with a practical, problem-solving mindset
• Able to work cross-functionally with Operations, IT, Software, and Engineering
• Tech-comfortable and curious, even if not formally technical
Why This Role Matters
This role keeps production moving.
You are the person who ensures systems actually work where it matters most — on the floor, helping teams use tools correctly, reducing friction, and preventing small issues from becoming production problems.
