Responsibilities of a Shop Clerk:
-Handling incoming calls to shop:
- Routing to appropriate personnel
- Taking messages
-Scheduling:
- Coordinating service appointments for lease vehicles
- Considering mechanic / technician availability and vehicle needs.
- Scheduling vehicles to go to outside shops
-Inventory Control:
- Parts Ordering
- Parts Receiving
- Parts Distribution to Mechanics
- Parts Price Researching
-Shop Clerical Organization:
- Receiving Repair Orders from Shop Lead for Distribution to Mechanics
- Fleetio database updating
- Ordering supplies
- And other duties as assigned
Qualifications of a Shop Clerk:
- A high school diploma or GED
- A valid driver's license
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repairs that can be beneficial
- Strong organizational skills and abilities
