Role Objectives: Responsible for carrying out a variety of physical tasks at the designated yard or facility in a safe manner. This is a safety sensitive position.

Key Responsibilities:

· Maintaining the shop and surrounding grounds in good order including building maintenance.

· Picking up parts and supplies from vendors when necessary.

· Aid with a variety of task, including daily administration of the shop, and provide support for more experienced workers.

· Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of shop equipment and make sure it is safe when the office closes.

· Assisting with loading and unloading of supplies and equipment.

· May assist in cleaning the shop area, painting, and retrieving parts and tools.

· May deliver and pick-up parts which could include pulling a trailer.

· May be required to operate forklift.

· Assist for repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment associated with the marine propulsion service industry.

· Assisting in hurricane procedures when required

· Maintain a clean and organized workplace.

· Stay up to date on safety training and OSHA requirements.

· Perform Daily Forklift Check

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

· Ability to apply common knowledge to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Valid TWIC and Driver’s License (Passport a plus)

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the Shop Hand is regularly required to use hands, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. It is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb, or balance. The Shop Hand must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. These tasks are performed day or night and in all types of weather conditions. Work on/near deep water and electricity.
