About the Role:

Join Apex Companies, Inc. as a Shop Mechanic / Manager in Savage, MN, where you will play a key role in maintaining and managing our fleet of specialized equipment. This exciting position is perfect for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and is passionate about leading a team to ensure operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

Oversee daily shop operations and manage equipment repairs.

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various equipment and vehicles.

Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.

Maintain inventory of parts and supplies, ensuring availability for repairs.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.

Train and mentor junior mechanics to enhance their skills and efficiency.

Collaborate with management to develop maintenance schedules and budgets.

Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding project status.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a mechanic with a focus on both truck and trailer maintenance, skid loader, and small engine repair.

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Experience with hydraulics preferred (mower/skid loader/front end loader/Hook Truck)

Welding and light fabrication experience preferred. Mainly used for making repairs.

Ability to research mechanical issues on your own using the internet, product manuals, and current vendors.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Organizational Qualities in terms of shop/tool/yard organizing.

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Valid driver’s license.

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in automotive or small engine repair is a plus.

Plowing experience preferred, but not required.
