    Shop Supervisor

    Position Summary:
    We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shop Supervisor to lead our electric motor repair and service shop. This individual will provide daily leadership, technical guidance, mentorship, and hands-on training to shop personnel while ensuring top-tier customer service and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electric motor systems—including welders and generators—and demonstrate the ability to interpret and apply schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide day-to-day supervision, mentorship, and training for shop employees.

    • Lead by example to promote a culture of safety, quality, and accountability.

    • Oversee the workflow of electric motor repairs, including welders, generators, and related equipment.

    • Ensure accurate and timely completion of estimates, quotes, and job progress reports.

    • Coordinate with customers to provide technical support, updates, and resolutions.

    • Review and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings for repair and diagnostic procedures.

    • Monitor job schedules and resource allocation to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

    • Assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving for complex repair tasks.

    • Maintain organized records of service history, job status, and employee performance.

    • Support continuous improvement initiatives and shop process enhancements.

    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience in electric motor repair, including generator and welder systems.

    • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.

    • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.

    • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a repair or technical shop environment.

    • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

    • Ability to train, mentor, and develop team members in both technical and soft skills.

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or trade school preferred.

    Work Environment:
    This role is primarily performed in a shop setting, with occasional customer interaction or on-site troubleshooting. Must be able to lift moderate weights, stand for extended periods, and work in an environment with machinery and tools.
