Head of Employee Referral Program - North America, Remote
Job Description
We’re looking for the Head of the Employee Referral Program to join our fully remote Talent Acquisition (TA) team. Your role will be to lead this critical talent acquisition program. Shopifolk refer amazing people, when they trust that their referral will have great experiences with the TA team. This trust between employees and the TA team allows referrals to continue to be one of the most impactful sources of candidates to interview with, and often join, Shopify.
In this role, you will build upon the existing Referral Program and extend it in ways that engage and incentivise Shopifolk to take an active and thoughtful role in building Shopify. You will lead the implementation of innovative activities and incentives that will encourage quality referral submissions from our diverse employees. At the same time, you will ensure that each employee and candidate receives an exceptional referral experience from Shopify. You will coordinate referral events, develop bonus programs, educate employees and partner with recruiters and hiring teams to achieve their hiring objectives. In addition, you will work closely with TA leadership to uncover priority hiring needs, and design marketing, promotions and special projects that will generate referrals targeted for them.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience developing and delivering world class HR/recruitment programs (referral programs preferred) with a large public company at scale
Ability to effectively deliver full-cycle projects and programs
Great organizational skills, able to track high volume activities with exceptional follow through and attention to detail
Strong service design orientation with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations – ability to serve multiple customers (employees, managers, recruiters, candidates, executives)
Excellent written and verbal communications skills - ability to interface with all levels of the organization
Problem solver - able to troubleshoot issues independently or escalate when appropriate - solid sense of accountability and sound personal judgement
Research/data driven decision maker - able to carry out research and use data
Ability to learn complex processes quickly and execute with precision
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
Drive the continued iteration and scaling of this critical recruitment program, lead the design and implementation of the referral program and policy changes
Identify gaps and inefficiencies in referrals processes and work to implement solutions that automate, scale and streamline program execution
Drive outreach to employees and managers, to educate and encourage quality referral submissions, as well as promoting the importance of diversity
Solicit feedback from referrers and recruiting on process and program to refine and execute
Support recruiters in the execution of referral events and promotions, partner with Talent Leadership to uncover highest priority roles to focus on
Execute bi-monthly referral payout process in accordance with policy, ensure accurate bonus payments to employees
Provide timely response to employee and recruiter questions, resolve escalated issues and adjudicate disputes related to referral guidelines and/or eligibility
Manage and update existing documentation about the program for employees, recruiters and talent coordinators in our knowledge management system
Seek out ways to automate repetitive tasks, and to allow Shopifolk to discover answers for themselves
Develop metrics and service level agreements for core services and transactions, track and report delivery against program objectives
Ensure service level agreements are being met
Manage the strategy and operations of Shopify's growing Alumni community
