    Job Description

    As the Head of Sales Development, you will play a major role in the future growth of Shopify by establishing a programmatic and operational approach to outbound lead generation and qualification. The individual in this role will chart the course on how outbound will be executed and built at Shopify, this is a unique opportunity for someone who likes to build and make a big impact. You will work closely with the Regional Sales Teams to deliver on goals, while driving global standardization, process, and infrastructure. You will take a data-driven approach to outbound at Shopify, setting the strategy and vision, while working directly with the team to drive and exceed targets. We are looking for a proven leader who thrives on building and making an impact with experience in scaling a technology outbound or sales development team.

    YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE: 

    • Recruit, develop, and lead a team of sales development professionals and leaders
    • Develop both the long-term vision and strategy for outbound at Shopify and manage day-to-day operations
    • Ensure the sales development strategy supports global revenue strategy and priorities
    • Establish key metrics and targets for your teams based on revenue targets
    • Be accountable for delivering pipeline for Sales; consistently analyzing top of the funnel metrics, pipeline quality, and revenue influenced across different segments
    • Drive efficiency through establishing a programmatic approach to sales development
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Sales Ops, and Enablement
    • Inspire, motivate, and enable individual development to promote career growth of your directs and indirect reports

     

    YOU’LL BE WORKING ON THINGS LIKE:

    • Extensive people management experience having led leaders
    • Experience leading and scaling sales development at either a high-growth startup or large SaaS company
    • Experience working cross-functionally with Sales Ops, Marketing, and Data Science
    • Proven track record of high performance in a pipeline generating and/or closing role
    • History of excellence in hiring, training, and coaching high-performance teams
    • Fluent with a modern sales tech stack (ie: Salesforce, SalesLoft or Outreach, Gong or Chorus, Bombora, etc.)
