    Job Description

    SHOPIFY SPACES ARE IRL DESTINATIONS, centrally located in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood and downtown Los Angeles, where local entrepreneur communities come to connect, learn and grow through a range of on-site event programming, retail activations and value-add services.

    The SHOPIFY SPACES EVENTS MANAGER is responsible for leading events and experiential projects hosted at SHOPIFY’S LOS ANGELES LOCATION, in partnership with Shopify merchants, creators, and a range of internal collaborators. Shopify Los Angeles events range from retail pop-ups and marketplaces to influencer meetups and networking events. 

    From project ideation to execution to measurement, you’ll confidently and independently oversee all aspects of event projects, ensuring that projects deliver on their promised goals and uphold Shopify’s brand values and creative vision. You’ll work closely with in-house creative and digital marketing teams as well as external event agencies. 

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

    • Lead event and experiential projects across all dimensions (concept and brief, budget and timelines, production and promotional approach, day-of event management)
    • Lead project meetings, broker stakeholder alignment and communicate project progress
    • Collaborate with in-house creative and external agencies to produce required creative deliverables on time and on budget
    • Collaborate with digital marketing colleagues to execute integrated marketing plans to drive event attendance
    • Manage post-event reporting and post-mortem, identifying opportunities to improve future projects
    • Occasionally collaborate with Shopify Spaces colleagues in New York on multi-location events
    • Suggest appropriate vendors, consultants, and production partners, as needed
    • Work on-site to execute world-class local IRL events from start to finish.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience leading event projects with minimal supervision
    • Strong project management skill sets and habits
    • Strong communication skills + can confidently manage senior stakeholders
    • Experience working with in-house and external teams for end-to-end delivery of small-scale and large-scale events. Events may be single days or over multiple days for audiences over 100+ attendees.
