    Job Description

    As a Shopify Mid-Market Sales Manager you’ll lead a team in acquiring net new business for Shopify, working with notable brands ranging from fast-paced startups to complex enterprises looking to accelerate their e-commerce strategy. Our Mid-Market customers are often leaders in their industries, willing to break rules and adopt new technologies; your goal is to remove roadblocks and help accelerate their growth. You’ll be joining a high performance sales organization that loves to win while also investing in a collaborative culture where our team members can develop and thrive in their careers. 

    As a Sales Leader, you’ll be a critical part of our sales organization and report directly to our Head of Mid-Market Sales. You’ll play a key role in building and codifying our sales strategy, territory remodelling, evaluating our outbound playbook, and embracing new sales methodologies. You'll be an important contributor towards recruiting, developing, and leading our sales talent and expanding our merchant footprint in this growing segment for Shopify. We move fast at Shopify, which brings a great deal of change, complexity and ambiguity—and a little bit of chaos. This means we are looking for a leader who is entrepreneurial and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to help us build the future of commerce.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    • Be directly responsible for the revenue growth results for your sales team
    • Ongoing development of high performing Account Executives which includes recruiting, hiring, and training new members
    • Coach your team on how to conduct efficient discovery meetings, live demos, and craft a solution that best meets the prospective customer’s needs
    • Motivate, inspire and hold team members accountable to metrics in order to exceed quota
    • Partner with AE’s to help strategize, co-pitch and close accounts of all sizes – typically ranging from $1-20M in GMV. You’ll be engaging with customers at the Owner/Operator and C Level for enterprise like organizations
    • Be strategic enough to build a team and tactical enough to execute on a day to day basis. 
    • Work cross functionally with leads in other departments to maximize the effectiveness of Shopify’s product offerings
    • Execute on our go to market strategy that drives repeatable success in Shopify’s core categories. Use data to inform investment decisions on territory planning and compensation design
    • Accurately forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets and drive a pipeline management process with your team that fosters a culture of accountability and rewards results while giving the business the transparency it needs to plan ahead
    • Strategically utilize Salesforce (our CRM) to drive productivity, report on forecast deal pipelines, and analyze conversion rates
    • Travel onsite to visit key clients, networking internally to influence key decision makers
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 3-5+ years of sales management experience preferred with a heavy emphasis on top performance in pipeline generation and managing longer, high complexity new logo sales cycles
    • 4+ years closing experience in a solution selling type of full sale cycle where multiple stakeholders are involved and ROI needs to be proven - preferably in a technology/SaaS environment with a track record of exceeding quota
    • Consistent track record of 100% team attainment, both as a team leader & individual contributor
    • Great organization and ability to manage multiple tasks and people
    • Leads by example and owns all results of their team
    • Proven track record of running both transactional and complex sales motions and ability to delineate between the two
    • Experience in increasing efficiency and productivity across a growing sales org
    • Have a customer centric focus with a consultative sales philosophy
    • High Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and passion to coach others
    • Extensive experience with sales tools [i.e. Salesforce, Gong, Salesloft, Linkedin, etc]

    IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU ALSO HAD: 

    • Experience in e-commerce, SaaS, or fin-tech sales. 
    • Strong technical knowledge of Shopify
