    This job will own the important responsibility of maintaining all MHE and Facility equipment and systems by focusing on reliability, uptime, safety, and optimization.  The scope of work includes servant leadership, preventative maintenance, problem solving, project management, and GETTING SH** DONE TO DELIGHT OUR OPERATIONS PARTNERS.

    HERE’S WHAT YOUR DAY TO DAY WILL LOOK LIKE: 

    • Familiarity with the ins and outs of fulfillment center operations allow you to quickly spot, evaluate, and resolve system issues and bottlenecks 

    • Hire, lead, coach, and mentor staff to ensure established standards for safety, maintenance and repair of equipment are met daily

    • Develop and modify short, mid, and long-term preventative maintenance plans, tactics, and resources to achieve safe and efficient uptime of facility and equipment

    • Monitor and report OEE metrics; hold R&M Team and OEM vendors to highest standards 

    • Through software provided, manage work orders, spare parts inventory and preventative maintenance processes/programs

    • Direct and facilitate equipment upgrades as needed

    • Address difficult situations head on with patience and respect

    • Create and manage department budget

    • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

    • Nurture strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

    THIS IS WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR FROM YOU: 

    • We think you’ll have a degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, but maybe not? Tell us how your experience is relevant if it comes from somewhere else

    • Deep understanding of electrical, controls, and mechanical components used in an industrial environment (high-speed sortation, ASRS, robotics, packaging automation, etc)

    • Manufacturing/warehousing plant engineering/management experience which includes financial management and project development and project management experience

    • Experience, experience and more experience. We want you to be informing us how this should be done. Ideally, you will have carried out a similar role at another company that is heavily involved in warehousing and fulfillment operations. If you come from a retail, 3PL, or ecommerce background, we’d love to chat. If you don’t come from this background, but know your experience is valid, we’d love to hear from you too.

    • Comfortable moving at a fast pace and in ambiguous environments

    • Obsessive attention to detail, well organized and able to juggle many projects at once

    • Proficiency with spreadsheet, document, and Gantt chart creation

    • Previous experience with Automated Control Systems PLCs and PCs

    • Strong opinions, weakly held. We want to build something that’s best in class and recognises the uniqueness of SL and Shopify. To do this, we expect you to come with ideas….and be open to those ideas being challenged.
