    Shorty’s Waterfront | West Homestead, PA Full-Time | Salaried Management Position

    Shorty’s Waterfront is looking for an experienced, energetic Kitchen Manager to lead our back-of-house team and become an important part of our growing organization.

    At Shorty’s, the Kitchen Manager is the HEART of our culinary operations. You’ll lead from the kitchen, develop an outstanding BOH team, maintain high food and safety standards, and manage costs while delivering the quality and consistency our guests expect.

    What We’re Looking For

    3+ years of restaurant, hospitality, or kitchen leadership experience

    Proven kitchen management experience

    A hands-on leader who can work every station and develop a strong BOH team

    Strong knowledge of food cost, labor management, inventory, and waste control

    Passion for food quality, consistency, cleanliness, and execution

    Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills

    Ability to remain calm, organized, and effective under pressure

    Ability to communicate with your team in a way that motivates, develops, and inspires

    Excitement about new menu rollouts and introducing new food items to our guests

    Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

    Must be 21+

    Qualifications

    High school diploma or GED

    3+ years of restaurant/hospitality experience

    Previous Kitchen Manager or comparable BOH leadership experience

    Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards

    Experience managing food cost, COGS, inventory, waste, and kitchen labor

    Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

    Ability to work a flexible schedule

    Comfortable working approximately 50 hours per week based on business needs

    What You’ll Do

    Be the head coach of our BOH team—hire, train, develop, motivate, and retain great people

    Lead daily kitchen operations and set the standard for execution

    Maintain a positive, accountable, and FUN kitchen culture

    Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, portioning, and ticket times

    Maintain a clean, safe, organized, secure, and sanitary kitchen

    Manage food costs, inventory, ordering, waste, and kitchen labor

    Ensure proper food-handling and food-safety procedures are followed at all times

    Lead new menu rollouts and ensure the team is properly trained on execution

    Maintain kitchen equipment and proactively address operational needs

    Work alongside the team and lead by example

    Collaborate with the management team to drive sales, control costs, and improve profitability

    Create an environment where our team feels valued and our guests feel like they’re among family and friends
