Have you seen Iron Man? Tony Stark is this genius inventor/superhero who becomes Iron Man. He's globally respected and does things no one else can do. Do you know how he does it? He has Pepper Potts. She keeps his life in order, whether it's helping at his company, or buying herself a birthday present because he will probably forget. In the movie, she's played by Gwyneth Paltrow, and she eventually becomes the CEO of Stark Enterprises. I'm looking for a Pepper Potts (male or female), that stellar assistant who makes my life easier so I can focus on the things I need to be focusing on. I own and operate Shoup Legal, a small law firm that is quickly growing. I have a ton of stuff to get done, and I need help with it. This is a very important position for me. I intend to hire someone who will become extremely valuable for me, my family, and my business. If you are interested, please apply on this site, but be prepared for a challenging, yet rewarding, interview process. Responsibilities: When I leave a meeting, I need someone to help me follow up with our employees or vendors. This means you need to listen perfectly, take diligent notes, draft great emails, and be willing to hold people accountable. After another workweek, my office gets trashed. I need someone who can help me organize, sort through the piles, file things (digitally and physically), and help me find the item 2 days later when I need it. This means you need to be organized, patient, and have a memory like a bear trap.Sometimes I travel for work. I need someone who can book my flights, schedule my transportation, and return the thing I bought on Amazon before I’m out of the return window. This means you need to be able to be accurate, efficient, and super-polite to the clerk at the UPS Store.I get more emails than any human being can process in a day, and my calendar is usually jam-packed. I need someone who can get familiar with my business, my clients, my friends, my family, and the people I don't want to talk to. This means you need to be able to make decisions independently, gain an understanding of what's important to me (and how I spend my time), and act accordingly. And during all of that, I forgot to bring some things my kids need for school, I remembered a document I need that was signed 5 years ago, and I realized I need double-booked myself and need to reschedule. I need someone who can stop by the school, follow my extremely fuzzy instructions, and decide the best way to make my schedule work. Qualifications: Are my expectations high? Yes.But will you have a ton of fun, and have an impact on our community? Absolutely. And I will be there to support you along the way.We have, and continue to build, great policies, systems, and procedures at Shoup Legal. This means you will have clear expectations and a lot of guidance on how we want things done. However, no system is perfect. I need intelligent people who can make decisions, think for themselves, and move things in the best direction. Compensation: $18 - $25 hourly
