GENERAL SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The role of Technical Manager is to manage assigned accounts and products. Candidate is required to provide technical and commercial support to direct and indirect customers and communicate internally with product engineers, sales team and manufacturing sites globally within the Showa Denko Materials organization. Candidate must exhibit skills in the technical B2B environment and ability to communicate with customers across multiple levels of an organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Technical knowledge of PWB Package Substrate materials.

·       Provide technical guidance and project management on next generation and future development activities.

·       Align technical roadmaps between Showa Denko Materials and existing / prospective customers.

·       Strengthen and/or improve Showa Denko Materials position within key Package Substrate customer supply chain.

·       Promote and expand adoption of Showa Denko Materials PWB Package Substrate materials.

·       Contribute to sales and profit goals by growing sales with the existing customer base, developing new business, and customer retention.

·       Manage assigned accounts and products by providing technical support and dispute resolution.

·       Promotes Showa Denko Materials PWB Material products and services thru customer meetings, teleconferences and sales events (trade shows, etc.)

·       Grow overall market share by presenting value-added services and by updating customers with new products information.

·       Frequently visits customer(s) and develop solid relationships primarily thru technical support.

·       Participates and supports in Trade Shows/Expositions/Consortiums to strengthen the Showa Denko Materials Brand as necessary.

·       Visit US customers and Showa Denko Materials global sites as required.

·       Gather market intelligence and actively share information amongst global colleagues within Showa Denko Materials (not limited to PWB Material groups).

·       Accompany and assist customer(s) visiting Showa Denko Materials sites globally.

·       Accompany and assist Showa Denko Materials personnel and managers visiting US customers from Japan and other global sites.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·       Detail oriented, ability to maintain timeline

·       Achievement oriented

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)

·       General proficiency in PWB materials and products (Package Substrate PWB knowledge preferred)

·       General proficiency in Package Substrate market

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1)      Bachelor degree required

2)      Technical degree or equivalent experience preferred

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Home office and/or internal office environment including the typical office items such as a phone, computer, and desk.  Additional time will be needed at customer sites usually in meeting rooms.  Occasionally, it will be necessary to visit a factory environment for customer audits or similar visits.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Carrying computer bag or sample parts (<20lbs) may be necessary.  Otherwise, there are no unusual physical requirements of the position.

POSITION TYPE: Regular Full Time role

TRAVEL DEMANDS:

The position requires 30-50% travel. Travel will include both domestic and international travel. Domestic travel will include both ground (car) and air.
