    Summary:

    Visit Shreveport-Bossier (VSB) seeks an experienced Marketing Manager to help execute the overall strategic Communications and Marketing plan. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for utilizing data and research to find creative ways to promote tourism to Shreveport and Bossier City, partner with community leaders, and collaborate effectively with all team members at the Bureau.

    The ideal candidate will be a Marketing professional who has been successful working within a similar capacity and has strong organizational, writing, editing, and analytical skills. This individual should be able to manage multiple responsibilities and projects. They must be inspired to positively contribute to the overall team culture at Visit Shreveport-Bossier.

    Essential Functions/Accountabilities

    · Assists with the development of the annual strategic marketing plan to promote our area to the traveling public, business events, and sports.

    · Builds brand awareness locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally through cohesive and results driven marketing and advertising.

    · Develops, gathers, and verifies information for the organization’s publications, newsletters, emails, website, flyers, rack cards, brochures, and other related written materials.

    · Oversees advertising schedule and works with publications to deliver ads.

    · Brand management capabilities and ability to communicate clearly with agencies that develop creative assets for VSB.

    · Can write editorial or advertorial copy. Must have an excellent command of grammar and spelling.

    · Handles invoices and is accountable for returning to Finance on a timely basis.

    · Assists with marketing of the Holiday Trail of Lights.

    · Develops and coordinates content for print and email newsletters.

    · Assists the Shreveport-Bossier Attractions Association publications, programming, membership, and marketing efforts.

    · Oversees website content for visitshreveportbossier.org and makes recommendations to keep it current. Also oversees keeping the app for Visit Shreveport-Bossier current.

    · Assist in the development of videos and/or commercials to promote the destination.

    · Updates quarterly on-hold phone messages that include event promotions.

    · Manages digital billboard co-ops for attractions.

    · Oversees production of the annual Official Visitors’ Guide to Shreveport-Bossier.

    · Assists with attraction marketing assistance program that includes brochure co-ops, 318 Restaurant Week, advertising co-ops, SBFunGuide.com opportunities, digital billboards, web opportunities, and social media opportunities.

    · Engage in public speaking to promote tourism, business travel, and sporting events in Shreveport-Bossier.

    · Other duties and responsibilities as needed to ensure the ongoing success and positive work environment of Visit Shreveport-Bossier.

    Desired Qualities

    · Four-year degree from an academic institution in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, or a related field.

    · Three years of marketing-related professional experience.

    · Excellent communication and presentation skills as well as a command of grammar, usage, and vocabulary.

    · Strong analytical and project management skills.

    · Collaborate with team members and community partners.

    · Able to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

    · Ability to leverage multiple sources for research-related requests.

    · Strong attention to detail and exceptional comprehension/editing skills.

    · Practice utilizing HTML for web design desired.

    · Familiarity with the local area.

    · Experience working within a database and ability to operate Microsoft Office applications (primarily, but not exclusively in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams).

    · Ability to work evenings and weekends, including overnight travel.
