    Summary:

    The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau seeks an experienced Marketing Manager to help execute the overall strategic Communications and Marketing plan. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for utilizing data and research to find creative ways to promote tourism to Shreveport and Bossier City, partner with community leaders, and work effectively with all team members at the Bureau.

    The ideal candidate will be a Marketing professional that has been successful working within a similar capacity and has strong organizational, writing, editing and analytical skills. This individual should thrive handling multiple responsibilities and be inspired to positively contribute to the overall team culture at the Bureau.

    Essential Functions/Accountabilities

    Assists the VP of Communications with the development of the annual strategic marketing plan to promote our area to the traveling public, business events and sports.

    Builds brand awareness locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally through cohesive and results-driven marketing and advertising.

    Develops, gathers, and verifies information for organization’s publications, newsletters, emails, website, flyers, and other related written materials.

    Oversees advertising schedule and works with publications on contracts and materials to ensure deadlines are met within budget targets.

    Coordinates with the Graphic Design Manager or agency for artwork as needed. Provides editorial/advertorial and other add-ons.

    Operates as the liaison for the Bureau negotiating and managing all ad agency contracts and deliverables.

    Handles ad invoices and is accountable to returning to Finance on a timely basis.

    Assists with marketing of the Holiday Trail of Lights. Serves as SBCTB representative and is responsible for the marketing coalition such as public relations, events calendar, website updates, events, and printed materials.

    Develops and coordinates content for Travel Talk, Weekend Tourism Update, Getaways e-newsletter, Shreveport-Bossier Attractions Association e-newsletter, and other print and electronic newsletters.

    Oversees web related content on www.shreveport-bossier.org and make recommendations to keep sections current.

    Develops commercials to promote the destination on television, services, YouTube, and through other forms of media.

    Oversees the production of brochures such as, but not limited to, outdoor guides, golf guides, holiday guides, and Mardi Gras guides.

    Updates quarterly on-hold phone message that include event promotions.

    Manages digital billboard co-ops for attractions with advertising agency.

    Oversees production of the annual Official Visitors’ Guide to Shreveport-Bossier.

    Coordinates an attraction marketing assistance program that includes brochure co-ops, 318 Restaurant Week, advertising co-ops, SBFunGuide.com opportunities, digital billboards, web opportunities and social media opportunities.

    Organizes quarterly Shreveport-Bossier Attractions Association board meetings that include inviting board members, creating an agenda and setting dates.

    Creates regular surveys of attractions to determine their needs.

    Engages in public speaking to promote tourism, business travel, and sporting events to Shreveport and Bossier City.

    Other duties and responsibilities as needed to ensure the ongoing success and positive work environment of the SBCTB.

    Desired Qualities · Four-year degree from an academic institution in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, or a related field. · Three years’ of Marketing related professional experience. · Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with team members and community partners.

    Excellent communication and presentation skills.

    Strong analytical and project management skills.

    Able to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

    Ability to leverage multiple sources for research related requests.

    · Excellent writing skills including a command of grammar, usage, and vocabulary. · Strong attention to detail and exceptional comprehension/editing skills. · Practice utilizing HTML for web design desired. · Familiarity with the local area.

    Experience working within a database and ability to operate Microsoft Office applications (primarily, but not exclusively in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams).

    Ability to work evenings and weekends, including overnight travel.
