Job Summary
The Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and executing strategic marketing plans to support the mission of the organization. The Marketing Manager will oversee traditional advertising, digital media, social media and public relations, as well as manage outside agencies.
Marketing Manager Duties
Design and implement social media strategies to align with business goals
Report monthly on advertising, social media, web and public relations analytics
Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content on the organization’s social media accounts – Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.
Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews
Work with sponsorship, logistic and sales manager to provide marketing and advertising deliverables to both sponsors and tournament directors
Provide regular follow-up and interviews with media
Create marketing plans to meet specific goals of events and execute all strategies and tactics
Write, edit and disseminate news releases to local, regional, and national media
Organize news conferences
Create broadcast content for the in-house broadcast studio that supports sponsors and events
Identify, analyze and buy traditional and digital media to support the organization and its partners
Update the website with events and work with the Communications Department to ensure sports events are part of the overall mix
Update the website with relevant information and/or coordinate with agency for website updates
Liaise with all department staff to ensure brand and messaging consistency
Participate in appropriate professional associations
Communicating with supervisor and peers

Minimum Qualifications
Excellent copywriting skills
Bachelor’s degree (preferably in marketing, journalism, or a related field)
Knowledge of online marketing channels
Analytical and multitasking skills
Sports marketing background is highly desirable
Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
Ability to work weekends as necessary
