    The Firm seeks to hire entrepreneurial, team-oriented, self-motivating and driven professionals to join our Investment Banking Department, with immediate opportunity in its MEDTECH group. This position will be based in San Francisco.

    Analyst, Investment Banker, Med Tech and Diagnostics AND CANNABIS

    We are seeking an analyst level banker to add to our Med Tech and Diagnostics team in our San Francisco office. The role will play an integral role in the execution of the group's mergers & acquisitions, equity and financing mandates.

     Members of the team enjoy considerable responsibility throughout the course of each deal and work closely with the firm’s equity capital markets and research teams. At the same time, as befits an entrepreneurial firm like Canaccord Genuity, team members are encouraged to assume a number of diverse responsibilities, including proactively identifying new business opportunities. An effective candidate should have a strong knowledge of the capital markets as well as strong valuation skills. In addition, we seek a strong communicator both orally and in writing. 

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist the execution of equity and debt financing, M&A, and restructuring and recapitalization transactions.
    • Perform financial valuation, discounted cash flow, pro forma merger, precedent transaction, and comparable companies’ analyses.
    • Prepare pitch books and live deal materials, including offering memorandum, confidential information memorandum, management presentations, lender presentations, and prospectuses.
    • Analyze detailed corporate and financial information, as well as conduct due diligence.

    PREFERRED BACKGROUND:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university plus 1-2 years of investment banking or consulting experience; relevant advisory and healthcare / industry experience will also be considered.
    • 1-2 years of (preferably) TAS Big 4 experience or something similar, based on the West Coast.

    DESIRED EXPERIENCE SKILLS:

    • Excellent financial modeling, financial statement analysis, and accounting skills / knowledge.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Detail-oriented with exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to lead a variety of transactions and projects simultaneously.
    • Resourceful self-starter; able to work autonomously.
    • Demonstrated team player and leader.
