Business Analyst

Full time hybrid position. NYC based Private Equity firm.

Salary Range: $125k to $175k

Responsible for bridging the gap between technology and finance within the organization. This position involves a deep understanding of financial processes, systems, and data, coupled with strong analytical and technical skills. The primary objective is to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations through the integration of technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate and partner across the entire IT, Finance, and operations team.
• Spearhead scaling technological integration and implementation across finance.
• Become the technology face and take ownership of all finance technology endeavors.
• Own all the financial applications and project/product manage them by partnering with finance and internal IT team.
• Work closely with the finance team to understand their business processes, challenges, and goals.
• Gather, document, and validate the business requirements and specifications for the finance team’s technology projects and initiatives.
• Conduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, risk assessment, and impact analysis for the proposed solutions.
• Communicate and coordinate with the IT team to ensure the solutions align with the firm’s requirements and specifications.
• Leverage advanced analytical capabilities by analyzing large sets of data from various applications to transform raw data into actionable insight.
• Serve as thought leader for technical business processes, developing forward-thinking system prototypes that promote increased efficiency and productivity on multiple levels.
• Working with external parties and vendors to drive project execution in a timely and efficient manner, including the delivery of weekly/monthly status reports to all stakeholders.
• Strategic business analysis of projects with an eye on alignment with overall business and tech strategies, e.g., identification of trade-offs between strategic and tactical implementation.
• Product Management for all financial applications and implement a formal product life cycle management to conduct a thorough analysis for onboarding, ongoing maintenance, and offboarding of applications.
• Project management for all finance technology initiatives as well as tracking status of ongoing operational support and enhancements.
• Utilize technology for automating manually intensive processes to increase productivity and bring overall efficiency to the financial processes.
• Responsible for pitching in on all projects that support the overall Finance team in delivering results.
• Contribute to the overall IT Roadmap by taking ownership of all the projects that have an impact for the finance teams.

Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information technology, Engineering, or Finance / Accounting is preferred.
• 4+ years of relevant work experience in consulting or in business & data analysis roles; Private Equity experience is strongly preferred.
• General understanding of accounting concepts and financial processes; Knowledge of Private Equity finance processes is strongly preferred.
• Fully proficient in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Outlook)
• Familiar with general ledgers and applicable software. Note: we use FIS Private Capital Suite (formerly FIS Investran) and NetSuite. The LP portal is on SunGard DX

Experience with the following tools (Good to have):

• Automation (RPA) Tools - Microsoft Power Automate, UiPath
• Basic Programming Skills (Excel Macros. SQL, Python)
• Data Analysis & Reporting Tools – Power BI. Alteryx, Power Query, Tableau
• Workflow / Task Management tools – Asana, MS Lists, MS Project / Planner
