    Our well-established law firm is looking for a tactical attorney with 2 to 3 years of experience as a first-party insurance attorney. We need a candidate with an exceptional commitment to service who can carry out all litigation phases, from case management and motion practice to mediation. Trial experience is a plus. If you have Plaintiff First Party Homeowner's Insurance experience and persuasive oral and written communication skills, you might be the litigation attorney we’re seeking. Work where you know the Owner, have daily interaction with clients, and help us grow the firm. You will be responsible for managing your own caseload. To be a key player on our team, you must be dedicated to excellence and hard work, but also know how to collaborate with a paralegal team well. Salary is commensurate with skill and experience and is negotiable. The compensation package includes base salary plus bonus compensation for production and performance. We are in the process of getting health and disability insurance. 8 paid holidays and 11 days of personal time off. We also pay for continuing legal education, bar dues, and some approved voluntary bar memberships. Responsibilities: Weigh all available options for successful insurance case first-party action and advise clients accordingly Identify and apply insurance case arguments that lead to the best possible outcome for clients’ needs Create quality legal documents such as motions, briefs, pleadings, and correspondence for use in court proceedings • Appear in court on behalf of insurance clients during legal proceedings to argue motions • Analyze insurance client needs to identify solutions, and determine strong case arguments • Prepare all necessary legal documents for policyholders and cases, including briefs, motions, pleadings, and correspondence • Conduct legal research, audit for coverage issues, and draft legal documents to develop and implement winning strategies for cases Qualifications: Experience using legal research programs such as Westlaw and Lexis required Definitive decision-making, strong public speaking, and strong interpersonal communications skills are vital Must hold a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and have at least two years of experience representing clients Ability to work independently and meet all required needs of a heavy caseload is crucial REQUIRED TECHNICAL AND CASE MANAGEMENT SKILLS: • Must have 2-3 years of litigation experience. Insurance experience preferred • Responsible for own caseload with little to no supervision • Capable of determining case strategy • Able to handle motion hearing calendar, evidentiary, and summary judgment hearings • Able to handle taking and defending depositions • Able to handle mediation • Trial experience is a plus • Tracking of billable hours • Management of case status and report to supervising attorney on a weekly basis • Regularly update clients on the status of the case • Conveys confidence in person and on the phone • A significant amount of court appearance required • Shows empathy to clients and puts them at ease during their difficult time • Treats a call at 4:30 on Friday with the same care and compassion as one on Monday morning • Demonstrates exceptional communication skills • Proficient in Microsoft Office • Case management system • Database entry • Inbound sales experience is a plus • A go-getter with a strong work ethic HOW TO APPLY:Submit your resume and complete the required assessment. Then email a cover letter, desired compensation range, along with a recent writing sample, deposition transcript, or transcript of a hearing that demonstrates your legal acumen in PDF format to admin@shupedhawan com. The subject line of the email should be your last name (all caps), followed by a hyphen and the words “Insurance attorney.”
