Responsibilities: • Ensure the safe and timely transportation of children and young adults to various destinations, including schools and medical appointments. • Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, prioritizing their safety and comfort throughout the journey. • Maintain a clean and well-functioning vehicle by performing routine checks and promptly reporting any maintenance needs. • Communicate effectively with staff, caregivers, and residents to coordinate schedules and address any special needs. • Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure a secure travel experience for all passengers. • Follow established safety protocols for transporting individuals with disabilities, ensuring their unique needs are met. • Keep accurate and up-to-date logs of trips, mileage, and vehicle inspections in line with organizational policies. Qualifications: • Experience in bus or commercial driving, especially with children or individuals with special needs. • Ability to communicate effectively in English. • Knowledge of basic vehicle mechanics and maintenance procedures. • Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable. • Familiarity with behavior management techniques and safety protocols for transporting individuals with disabilities. • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively. • Valid driver's license for operating large vehicles; clean driving record required. Compensation: $18 - $20 hourly
