    Job Description

    We are working with a client in need of a skilled IT project manager to join their growing team. In this position, you will be responsible for organizing our technical projects and ensuring that all members of the operating team work efficiently. The IT Project Manager should have an aptitude for thinking outside the box and enjoy critical thinking, organization, and overall team management.

    Location: Remote

    Project Length: 6 Months Plus

    Responsibilities

    • Work closely with users to understand, analyze, and document processes and needs.
    • Create technical based solutions to enhance our customers overall technical experience.
    • Thoroughly communicate, document, and ensure the success of these solutions.
    • Work with technical team to provide clear road-maps on detailed logic.
    • Thoroughly test solutions provided by developers and provide clear, detailed feedback.
    • Provide technical support to end-users and internal co-workers.
    • Extract information and manipulate the data into clear reports and escalate to upper management when needed
    • Design technical developments with the technical team
    • Develop and maintain information technology plans which outline project status individual tasks, milestones, completion estimates, and resource allocation
    • Coordinate the roll-out of beta and production releases
    • Inspect projects for quality assurance
    • Ensure customer satisfaction through post-project debrief with clients
    • Document all estimates, project statuses, and project completion paperwork
    • Work with the technical team to brainstorm new test ideas for technical projects
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field (experience in lieu of education will be considered.)
    • Minimum of 5 years in a technical analyst position.
    • Minimum of 3 years end user support, application testing, application deployment experience.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with databases, object-oriented based applications and web-based applications.
    • Work within transportation field required (e.g. truckload, intermodal, etc.)
    • Transportation Management System experience preferred, McLeod TMS software a plus
    • Certification in project management preferred
    • Computer proficiency in programs such as SharePoint and the Microsoft Office Suite
    • Familiarity with IT standard project management tools such Project, Jira, Confluence or equivalent
    • Excellent understanding of the software lifecycle, including design, testing, and deployment.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with end-users and fellow staff members.
    • Excellent technical writing skills, including project deliverables and use cases.
    • Excellent understanding of application testing, UA testing, and remediation testing.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills.
    • Must be self-driven, working well individually and in a team environment.
    • Good understand of project management.
    • Design technical developments with the technical team
    • Good understanding of database design, with practical experience.
    • Multitasking experience; ability to prioritize to meet required schedules.
    • Excellent verbal communication skills as well as ability to articulate thoughts and concepts to a variety of audiences in written correspondence and documentation.
    • Works equally well in both independent and team environments and be flexible and adaptable to constantly changing environment and client needs.
    • Ability to gather requirements and present it to IT management.
    • Ability to solve complex issues by engaging all resources needed.
