Sichenzia Ross Ference Carmel LLP currently seeking a full-time Paralegal for our Securities Litigation, Arbitration, and Broker-Dealer Regulation Practice Group. We offer competitive compensation, work-life balance, and an excellent benefits package. This position is a hybrid position.
Salary Range: $55,000 to $75,000, with bonus potential.
Position Summary
We are looking for candidates with a strong background or potential for success in legal case management, discovery and document analysis, research, and administrative tasks to support our defense attorneys. Successful candidates possess superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication abilities, and are detail-oriented self-starters. This position requires excellent organizational and critical-thinking skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Collaborate closely with and provide support to attorneys and other support staff, overseeing and managing various litigation tasks
· Handle case management from initial filing through trial and appeal, including managing calendars and deadlines, and anticipating attorney needs
· Establish and maintain the organization of case files, aiding in the drafting of motions, arbitrator selection process, depositions, and trial preparation
· Organize and analyze financial and legal documents
· Coordinate and manage all aspects of discovery, including the organization, collection, and production of electronic discovery
· Develop and implement protocols, procedures, and templates to efficiently manage and organize cases
· Perform cite checking and proof reading
· Conduct legal and factual research on individuals and corporations
· Draft basic documents and conform templates
· Assist with trial preparation, including creating trial notebooks, maintain and tracking exhibits, and coordinating witness schedules
Skills & Competencies
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) & Adobe
· Exceptional at organizing, prioritizing, and handling multiple tasks simultaneously
· Proven strong work ethic and self-driven attitude, with a willingness to take initiative, be hands-on, and work independently
· Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
· Skilled in gathering, organizing, analyzing, and presenting substantial amounts of information effectively
· Excellent research and analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
· Proactively anticipates and addresses attorney needs, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently
Qualifications & Prior Experience
· Required:
o College degree or paralegal certification
o 1-2 years of experience in a law firm or in broker-dealer setting
o Willingness to work flexible/overtime hours consistent with litigation demands
o Basic knowledge of civil litigation in Federal and State Courts, legal procedures, terminology, and court rules
· Preferred:
o FINRA Arbitration experience
o Strong academic credentials
o Degree or experience in accounting or finance
