SRMC is searching for a Specialty Clinic Registered Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our TEAM. This is an exciting opportunity to support our Specialty Clinic Providers and patients. This role offers a Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm schedule.
Job Responsibilities:
- Using the nursing process and SRMC resources, provides patient care and/or services as directed by the Provider.
- Utilizes knowledge of disease, illness, and injury when providing care.
- Assists in maintaining a safe, effective care environment conducive to the optimal health and dignity of the patient.
- Interviews patients and determines patient status.
- Communicates patient status, and changes in patient status, to the Provider in a timely manner through concise, appropriate communication and documentation.
- Documents, according to protocol, in medical records all services that are performed for patients.
- Assists with patient referrals to Physicians, Dentists, Optometrists, and other services when indicated.
- Sets up, helps clean, and assists Providers in exam rooms; helps with setting up of clinic(s).
- Administers medications and treatments following established protocols.
- Monitors and records response to medications, treatments, and procedures accurately and legibly.
- Uses standardized teaching tools to counsel patients in groups or one-to-one basis on topics designed by the Provider.
- Cross-trained for duties within the Specialty Clinic to support other Providers as needed.
- Provides care appropriate for the neonate and the pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients served based on demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing work assignments and/or responsibilities.

- Strong communication skills, with ability to partner with all clinic leaders at all levels.
- Remain sufficiently knowledgeable about the legal aspects of his or her responsibilities and activities to be able to avoid inadvertent violation of State and Federal statutes and regulations.
- Expected to comply with applicable laws related to job responsibilities and refrain from knowingly participating in illegal activities or failing to meet affirmative legal duties.
Education & Experience:
- Must be a licensed Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Nebraska.
- Prefer minimum of one year of clinical or related experience.
- Basic Life Support certification required.
