    Scope and Purpose of Position

    Support I.T. for Irvine Site, we are are Contract Manufacturer for Pharmaceutical products.

    Under general oversight from the global Chief Information Officer and the Vice President & General Manager of Irvine, the Information Technology Director of Irvine is the local leader responsible for all Irvine campus information technologies, systems, and services. The IT Director will collaborate with local business units, global Siegfried IT, and vendors to lead all Irvine IT operations and ensure IT complies with any applicable US or European regulations, especially Good Manufacturing Practices.

     

    Responsibilities

    1. Manage all Irvine information technology aspects including servers, networks, endpoints, peripherals, software, asset management, procedures, projects, education, helpdesk services, and staffing.

    2. Create or adapt improved or innovative operational processes, structures, systems, products, or methods required to implement existing organizational standards and priorities

    3. Meet daily operational requirements and identify opportunities to enhance the site's operational efficiency and growth through technology.

    4. Preserve and enhance the security, stability, and accessibility of the infrastructure in Irvine.

    5. Lead Irvine IT in the identification of user requirements, vendor selection, implementation, and ongoing support contractual relationships.

    6. Provide IT subject matter expertise and IT best practice guidance for internal and client projects, including for Computer System Validations and for Corrective and Preventative Action plans.

    7. Contribute to the systems administrations of pharmaceutical instrument systems by ensuring backups, troubleshooting, and supporting operations.

    8. Establish and maintain Irvine IT Policies and Standard Operating Procedures, as needed, including for backups, business continuity, disaster recovery, security, and services.

    9. Administer to budgeting, purchasing, and accounting of Irvine IT resources.

    10. Other duties, as assigned.

     

    Required Skills Experience and Education

    1. Bachelor of Science in related field and 7+ years of experience in technology with multi-facility environment and matrixed organizational structure experience or 15+ years of practical professional experience.

    2. 4+ years in a leadership role coordinating business units with differing objectives and priorities to identify opportunities and implement technologies with process improvements toward a common goal.

    3. High integrity with a history of developing trust-based internal and external relationships to resolve a variety of immediate and long-term issues with incomplete information requiring interpretation, assessment, and innovative problem-solving with risk analysis and good judgement.

    4. Experienced in project management, change management, human resources management, contract management, financial management, and IT department operations management.

    5. Self-motivated with an ability to conduct an IT assessment, establish a modern IT roadmap, effectively manage strategic and operational priorities, and complete tasks.

    6. Good interpersonal skills to facilitate communications between technical and non-technical resources using oral, written, and visual mediums.

    7. Experience in a regulated industry; GMP/FDA experience supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing is advantageous.

    8. Applicable certifications and knowledge of servers, networking, cybersecurity, systems integration, and application implementation practices are beneficial.

    WORK CONDITIONS

    · Visual and hand coordination to operate equipment.

    · Sitting for extended periods of time.

    · Bending and climbing ladders for equipment installation, inspection, and removal.

    · Lifting and transporting of objects up to 35 pounds, such as servers, computers, or peripherals.

    · On-call availability for nights and weekends in case of outages or planned maintenance.

    · Potential travel to other facilities or vendors, including in Europe.
