Operations Assistant

The operations assistant position is the first step towards becoming an operator of coating machines.

As an Operations Assistant, you will be an integral part of our production team.

Duties include:

·         Transporting raw materials to machines for production

·         Assisting in machine setup and operations

·         Quality Control testing

·         Machine cleanup after and between orders

·         Packaging finished product for shipment. 

·         Shipping and receiving

·         Routine cleaning

·         Use of a forklift and Clamp truck. Experience not necessary.  Training will be provided.

We operate two shifts.

·         Each shift works three 12-hour days and a 4-hour day. --- 3.5 days off per week.

·         We do not work holidays

·         Our shifts are permanent assignments and do not swing.

·         Training will be done on days, 8 hours per day Monday through Friday for 8 to 12 weeks.

·         After initial training the successful candidate will be assigned to a shift on nights.

·         Established members in good standing can look forward to advancement and the option of day shifts as positions open.

To become a member of our team you will need:

·         High school Diploma or equivalent (GED)

·         Valid driver’s license.

·         Must be able to read, write, verbally communicate, and enter information into a computer in English.

·         Be physically able to help carry 50 to 100 lbs.  lift and place mixers, move Mill rolls and drums.

·         Climb ladders, walk, and stand during a 12-hour shift.

Sierra is a producer of food packaging materials.

·         Good Manufacturing Procedures and Safety requirements will be followed

·         Safety shoes (reimbursement)

·         Safety glasses (reimbursement)

·         No jewelry, watches, rings, piercings, false fingernails, or nail polish.

·         Will have to follow our dress code.

·         Will have to follow other facility and security restrictions.

Pay rate of $16.00 per hour with a sign on bonus of $250 after 90 days.  There is an additional shift differential for night shift.
