Understanding and experience in estimating costs for the Architectural Metal industry. 2. Reviews construction documents, drawings and specifications and understands scope of work to bid. 3. Executes take-offs of construction documents. 4. Inputs take-offs into a computer spreadsheet. 5. Works with the CAD department for any necessary drawings required for bidding. 6. Obtains all pricing for materials. 7. Prepares complete cost analysis for projects and submits project bids as required. 8. Experience with PlanSwift and Bluebeam 8. Where predetermined standard(s) are not available, provides reasonable estimates and/or product alternatives. 9. Informs client and/or management of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database. 10. Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc. 11. Works closely with the project managers. 12. Develops vendor relationships. 13. Attends departmental meetings as required. 14. Photocopies and scans documents and plans and maintains both electronic and paper files as necessary or required.
