    Sierra Piedmont Engineers and Geologists, a 25 year young environmental engineering/geological consulting firm is seeking a staff engineer/geologist with a passion for client service to join our fast-paced group. This position is a career track position and requires a B.S. in geology or engineering and 0-3 years of experience in the industry.

    The successful candidate will be able to show solid examples of contributing to a project or client execution team while exhibiting a high degree of self-direction and management. The right candidate will possess excellent written and verbal skills, a strong work ethic, be detail-oriented and have superb organizational skills. 

    If experienced, writing skills should include experience in due diligence assessments, groundwater monitoring reports, and subsurface site assessments. If entry level, examples of writing and completing writing exercises will weigh heavily.  Preference will be given to those candidates that have passed the G.I.T or E.I.T. exam.

    This position requires short duration travel with responsibilities approximately split into three areas; field activities (60%), report writing (30%) and project management (10%).

    Job Skills You Will Have or Acquire Include:

    • Phase I environmental site assessment execution
    • Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasure Plans creation 
    • Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan creation 
    • Installation of soil borings and groundwater monitoring wells & sampling 
    • Project management (performing multiple tasks with efficiency and accuracy, ensuring field tasks meet state/federal regulations, adhering to cost and time budgets)
    • Ensuring projects meet client requirements and reflect Sierra commitments and standards
