The Sign Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of sign manufacturing, from project intake to final delivery. This role ensures production efficiency, quality control, and on-time completion of signage projects while managing staff, equipment, and materials. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership skills with hands-on production knowledge in the signage or graphics industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily operations of the sign production department, including scheduling, workflow, and staff supervision
Oversee the fabrication of various signage types (e.g., vinyl graphics, illuminated signs, banners)
Ensure all products meet company quality standards and client specifications
Coordinate with sales and design teams to review project requirements and timelines
Maintain production schedules and ensure deadlines are consistently met
Monitor inventory levels and order materials as needed
Train, mentor, and evaluate production staff to maintain high performance and safety standards
Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate maintenance or repairs
Implement and enforce safety procedures and best practices
Optimize processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste
Qualifications:
3–5+ years of experience in sign production or a related field
Proven leadership or supervisory experience
Strong knowledge of sign fabrication techniques, materials, and equipment (e.g., CO2 Laser, large-format printers, laminators)
Ability to read and interpret design files and technical drawings
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Familiarity with production software and workflow systems is a plus
Preferred Skills:
Experience with vinyl application, electrical signage, and installation processes
Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and printer RIP software
Lean manufacturing or process improvement experience
Work Environment:
Production facility/warehouse setting
May require standing for extended periods and lifting materials
Occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines
