This opening is for a full-time Graphic Artist/Illustrator position. You must be proficient and efficient in Adobe Illustrator to succeed in the role.

If you've just used Illustrator once or twice or plan to learn on the job, this isn't the job for you. The hired artist will be tasked with creating vector artwork from rastered images and from written descriptions on Day 1.

*** THE ILLUSTRATOR PEN TOOL WILL BE THE MAIN IMPLEMENT USED DAILY. ***

WHERE WOULD I WORK & WHAT'S IT LIKE?

All employees work out of our office in Winter Park, FL (near the intersection of Aloma and University). It's fast-paced and highly interactive among team members.

We're an online company. No customer showroom means we can support our nationwide customer base without tire-kickers or people looking over your shoulder while you design.

You'll have a sit-stand desk, double monitors, and a super comfy ergonomic chair (Herman Miller Aeron if curious).

WHAT WOULD I DO?

You'd be responsible for creating awesome vector artwork that we can turn into finished pins, coins, and patches for our customers. We have great customer service/sales reps but if we can't take what the customer is asking for and make it better than what they believe possible, we can't sell anything. Customers come to us with everything from just a rough written idea to napkin drawings to PowerPoint presentations with layered composites to professional vector artwork. We start from a variety of different points but finish in the same place with a great design that they love.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• 2+ Years Experience or Degree in Relevant Field + Portfolio showcasing vector work
• Expertise & Speed with the Adobe Illustrator Pen Tool
• Knowledge of AI Keyboard Shortcuts
• Good Reading Comprehension
  • Customer requests and revisions come to us via email. You must have and use the ability to read and understand information and requests presented to you in writing and to accurately and quickly transform these ideas into artwork.
• A fast learner
  • There's a lot of industry-specific information we'll teach you.
• Attention to detail
  • Our products have exacting minimums for text and strokes to make designs that look good in the finished medium as well as on-screen.
• Excellence in time management, organization, and prioritization
  • Applicants must possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to redirect their efforts as necessary.
• Thick skin
  • Our customers can be very specific about what they want their project to look like and they don't always have the best eye for design.

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS

• Base Compensation of $15.00 - $20.00 Hourly -- 40hrs/week + OT available 
• Proof Closure Bonus - Up to $4,800-$12,000+ per year

  • The test will evaluate your ability to vectorize rastered images and create a composition. Emphasis is placed on speed, accuracy, and creativity.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

• You take customer descriptions and source art and create production-ready vector art and renders
• Sales team members quote the designs to customers and get feedback
• You adjust and iterate the art based on customer feedback the sales team collects
• You interact with members of the sales and manufacturing teams to make sure that the files are exactly what the customer wants and are producible
• We sell the project and you get a new design closure bonus
• We make the order
• You get to see your digital design become a finished pin, coin, or patch!
