Job Description

Our client, a $12M company with concrete plans to grow to $25M within 12 months is looking to hire their first controller to bring in-house all the accounting functions, which are currently outsourced. The controller can be promoted to CFO as the company continues to grow. The company is in the transportation/logistics industry. The company is solid, established and has a proven track record. It is now under new ownership that brings with it plans for major strategic growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Take on all responsibilities for accounting function
• Build the accounting team
• Implement and document all processes, policies, procedures and internal controls
• Assume as soon as possible all Responsibility for the month-end close procedures including preparation of monthly journal entries, account reconciliation and analysis of results
• Maintain and reconcile various Balance Sheet Accounts as required
• Establish procedures to monthly Reconcile all cash accounts and all other balance sheet accounts
• Preparation of monthly and quarterly reports.
• Build platform for forecasting and financial modeling
• Perform other special projects and analyses as directed by management.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 8 to 10 years progressive accounting experience, preferably a minimum of 2-4 years in public accounting. Local and regional firms are a plus.
• CPA or CPA eligible preferred but not required.
• In-depth knowledge of US generally accepted accounting principles.
