    Job Description

    Qualifications: Must be licensed in Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT), Social Work, (LCSW), Psychology (Ph.D), PsyD, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) etc. Must have experience in county contracted Medi-Cal claiming requirements and documentation; counseling experience in a residential setting and knowledge of group process and interaction; a working knowledge of treatment concepts in working with emotionally disturbed and/or pre-delinquent children, preferably adolescent aged.

    Responsibilities: The Clinical Therapist is responsible for implementing the Agency's philosophy, policies, and procedures within the mental health guidelines for Medi-Cal EPSDT Specialty Mental Health Services. Overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Mental Health Program services provision including provision of therapeutic treatment services, timely and quality completion of all documentation (e.g. Assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge reports, Needs and Service Plans, etc.). Oversees and implements the development and execution of a sound treatment program which will facilitate the development and growth of the residents by meeting their physical, emotional, educational and vocational needs.

    Duties/Responsibilities: Provides comprehensive, evidenced based, therapeutic mental health treatment services for youth residing in our STRTP, meeting State, County and Medi-cal criteria for Specialty Mental Health Services including (individual, group, family therapy, rehab/ADL counseling, collateral, Intensive Care Coordination (ICC), etc.) Conducts individual, family, and group therapy using evidenced based practices. Oversees and may supervise Clinical Therapists, interns (if certified), and other support staff. Oversees the implementation of the organizations new Community Wellness Center outpatient program for youth and young adults. Plans and coordinates work of the clinical staff. Directs all aspects of clinical therapy services rendered to clients. Conducts trauma informed in-service staff trainings. Responsible for all State, County and Medi-Cal required documentation and client mental health chart documentation and ensuring program contractual obligations are met. Act as a resource for staff on issues related to treatment of residents. Creates and updates treatment plans as needed or within established timelines. Ensures productivity targets are met.

    Serves as the ICC coordinator who is responsible for working within the Child and Family Team (CFT) to ensure that plans from any of the system partners are integrated to comprehensively address the identified goals and objectives and that the activities of all parties involved with the service to the child/youth and/or family, are coordinated to support and ensure successful and enduring change.

    Experience: Prefer at least 5 years of licensed clinical experience providing mental health services to children and adolescents and current certification to provide clinical supervision or ability to become BBS certified intern supervisor. Knowledge and proven experience with county mental health departments and county dependency agency documentation necessary. All staff, regardless of position, serve as role models for children and adolescents who are served by our agency. Therefore, each staff must at all times be emotionally stable and able to function effectively with children, adolescents and adults who may have mental or behavioral health problems. All staff must be able to demonstrate appropriate daily behavior, appropriate expression of emotions, as well as appropriate role modeling.

    Roles: Reports to Executive Director. Takes direction from clients’ psychiatrists. Serves as ICC Coordinator and/or CFTM Coordinator.

    Hours: 40 hours/week

    Compensation: $99,840 to $124,000 (d.o.e) annually plus excellent benefits package
