    About this Role

    The Full-Time Delivery Specialist role is a vital position within the Silgan Dispensing team, offering an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to advance their skills. Our manufacturing facilities produce thousands of dispensing products daily, and it is crucial to maintain efficient and continuous operations. The Full-Time Delivery Specialist is responsible for the transportation of products between various locations. Below is a list of the typical duties performed by our Full-Time Delivery Specialist:

    • Operate the truck/tractor trailer safely and responsibly at all times.
    • Utilize forklift to load and unload freight as required.
    • Safely secure loads and ensure they are within weight limits.
    • Verify and confirm that paperwork matches the physical goods being loaded and unloaded.
    • Collaborate with warehouse and distribution center staff to facilitate timely and effective transfer of goods.
    • Report any vehicle problems and defects to immediate supervisor.
    • Comply with all Department of Transportation standards and regulations.
    • Maintain a good driver record.
    • Unload trucks and manage product inventory.
    • Pick orders and load them onto trucks.
    • Organize product stacks on the depot floor.
    • Accurately complete all necessary documentation.
    • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area.
    • Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisor.
    • Adhere to all forklift and dock safety requirements.
    • Perform any other job duties as assigned.

    Qualified Candidates must have:

    • Valid CDL Certification-A-1.
    • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
    • Successful completion of minimum driving skill test.
    • Minimum 1-2 years of experience operating a tractor trailer.
    • Valid CDL Class A truck driver's license and proficiency in operating various types of trucks.
    • Department of Transportation physical certification approval.
    • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

    Preferred Candidates will have:

    • Ability to work independently and take proactive initiatives.
    • Analytical skills to interpret and report data.
    • Strong prioritization skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

    Physical Demands (Reasonable accommodations provided):

    • Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 35 lbs.
    • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on the production floor.
    • Physical requirements include but are not limited to sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, stooping, crouching, color determination, and grasping.
