    The function of the Sr. Network Security Engineer is to design, implement, support and maintain firewall infrastructure, engineer PCI environments, maintain documentation for compliance reviews and work with internal and external auditors. As a senior member of the engineering team the Sr. Network Security Engineer will report directly to the Network Manager. The Sr. Network Security Engineer is ultimately responsible for hands-on engineering activities ensuring the successful operation of mission critical data flows spanning multiple data centers and providing web hosting services to millions of customers.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong specialization in firewall engineering and security. Required skills include heavy experience with Palo Alto platforms, excellent knowledge of network administration, best current practices and routing protocols. With a strong preference for candidates experienced in Linux, IP transit, and denial of service mitigation. This position will require participation in an on-call rotation.

    Responsibilities

    • Design, implement, support and maintain firewall/security infrastructure and PCI environments.
    • Maintaining documentation of PCI environments for use in internal/external audits.
    • Collaborate closely with other network, system and platform engineering teams.
    • Network operations excellence providing 100% customer uptime SLA.
    • Availability for on-call rotation to support critical network functions.
    • Ensuring technological compliance with all best common practices, standard operating procedures, and corporate goals.
    • Participation in the daily planning, tracking, scheduling and execution of projects, change management activities, and general engineering activities with the network engineering teams.
    • Participation in root cause analysis and post mortem processes.

    Qualifications

    • Extensive experience with firewall and security engineering servicing large networks.
    • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) certification or equivalent practical skills.
    • Experience engineering PCI environments and familiarity with PCI audits and scans.
    • Minimum of three years of network engineering experience in critical datacenter network environments.
    • Understanding of a wide variety of network equipment including but not limited to; routers, switches, firewalls, denial of service mitigation, serial consoles, and load balancers.
    • Proven track record of engineering and implementing networks servicing large scale server deployments.
    • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
