Job Description
We are 4 attorney boutique personal injury firm that does not advertise and does not do high volume work. We spend considerable time getting to know our clients and developing long term relationships with them. We are losing a 10 year veteran employee that we trained up when she was a student at Georgia State and we will miss her dearly as she advances in her career into the Insurance world.
There is some flexibility in schedule to work around school or childcare hours.
There are two types of candidates that are a fit.
Recently graduated a 4 year college or are attending part time and
Less than 2 years experience in litigation.
Our firm is close knit, we don't tolerate stupidity and we have potty mouths on occasion. Outside of our youngest attorney, we have all been here over 10 years because it's a supportive, respectful teaching environment.
Apply for this position if:
You have or are working on a college decree part time and you are hyper organized and want to learn valuable skills for a career in law. Will consider a student that wants to transition to law school as well and this training would be invaluable.
You have an associates degree but have 2 years of experience as a litigation legal assistant.
If you are Category One, do not apply if
You don't meet the degree requirements.
Are lazy and don't want to work hard and be respected and trained.
Have thin skin and are easily insulted.
Suspect that you may not be smart enough to handle these challenges or are sloppy without an eye for detail.
Have crappy writing skills.
If you don't have outstanding people skills. If you don't like talking to clients, adjusters, medical providers, police departments on the phone, don't apply.
You are someone that people generally find you annoying. We take firm travel trips together every year and in a small company, none of us want to hang out with an Eeyore or a pain in the butt.
If you are Category 2 above; do not apply if
Any of 1-7 apply.
You don't understand that our primary goal is to help clients, not squeeze people for money.
3)You are under the impression that people should go to chiropractors after car accidents.
When? Our employee leaves in 2 weeks so we will interview and decide within 10 days.
What Else is Required to be Considered? We will not consider anyone who does not send over a writing sample. What does that mean? If you have legal experience, find a document that you drafted that you think reflects your particular insights and abilities such as a non-boilerplate letter or legal pleading. If you are inexperienced, show me what you can do. What piece of writing have you produced that you think reflects why you would be a good fit for the position. Don't get me started on AI, I will be interviewing acceptable candidates and can tell if what you submitted is a topic you don't understand.
I will not be able to respond to candidates that don't meet the criteria. No disrespect, but we are very busy people.
