    Our client is a mid-stage startup product design company with an office in the North Austin area and they are looking for an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join the team.

    They offer a small company environment where you will be able to take ownership of electronics designs at the cutting edge of Human Computer Interaction. The products are amazing!

    As a member of our engineering team in Austin, you will be responsible for the innovation, design, development and testing of the firmware. You will work closely with other engineers in a cross-discipline setting to develop systems for various applications. We are looking for individuals who thrive on developing and testing products that are used by millions of people around the globe. A passion and proven track record of building products is central to this role and we are looking for someone who has built products that actually solve human needs. (Not just doing bring-up for chips, for example) 

    This will be an initial contract position with the prospect of a permanent position.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Development and test of embedded firmware, PC based software
    • Translating different languages/code into embedded code
    • Innovate on top of existing company intellectual property
    • Work on integration and the testing of systems, and prototypes
    • Work with management to meet project specifications and schedule
    • Solve coding issues and technical problems within the products
    • Fill in “as needed” to assist with simulation, design, fabrication, integration and test of hardware and software

    You will get to work with: 

    • Product design
    • Embedded firmware (C,C++), firmware integration, scripting (python)
    • Microcontroller programming and prototyping electronic circuits, lab experience
    • Interfacing programmed MCUs and prototype ICs with other hardware and computers
    • ARM toolchain and debuggers (e.g. Eclipse IDE, ulink debugger, etc.)
    • Design and implementation of DSP algorithms for processing high-performance sensor signals in embedded systems
    • Project planning and leadership
    • Innovation and intellectual property generation

    About you

    • A Degree in Engineering or Software is preferred or ideally 4/5 years +of commercial experience
    • You must have a problem solving mindset and the communication skills to present your solutions
