This is a 100% Remote position based anywhere in the United States.

Our client is a financial trading analytics and regulatory compliance software company that provides services to clients ranging from the biggest investment banks and stock exchanges to the industry’s newest rising stars.

We seek a highly skilled and experienced DevOps Engineer with a strong background in AWS and PostgreSQL. This role involves working closely with our software development teams to design, implement, and maintain our cloud infrastructure and database systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

Responsibilities

• AWS Cloud Management:
• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Monitor and optimize AWS services for scalability, cost-efficiency, and performance.
• Implement and maintain AWS security best practices.
• PostgreSQL Database Administration:
• Manage PostgreSQL databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security.
• Perform database tuning, backup, and recovery tasks.
• Develop and maintain automated database deployment and management processes.
• Collaboration and Support:
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate cloud and database solutions into applications.
• Provide technical support and guidance for AWS and PostgreSQL-related issues
• Infrastructure as Code:
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Maintain and update IaC scripts and templates to reflect evolving needs.
• Monitoring and Logging:
• Implement and maintain monitoring and logging solutions for both AWS and PostgreSQL.
• Analyze logs and monitoring data to proactively identify and address issues.
• Responsible for ongoing and future audit and compliance requirements

Security, Availability, and Confidentiality Requirements

• You are responsible for protecting the credentials provided to you to access networks, systems, and data.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of all customer data to which you are granted access. Any suspected compromises of proprietary data or customer data must be reported to Management immediately.
• You will adhere to the Information Security Policy and Procedures and supporting standard operating procedures to protect Company systems and data.
• You will alert management immediately with any expected system or data compromises and/or system failure impacting the security, confidentiality, availability, and integrity of company and customer data.
• You will be required to attend an annual Information Security Awareness Training.
• You are responsible for monitoring the production systems daily and responding immediately to security or usability concerns.
• Timely monitoring for intrusions and other vulnerabilities that could affect proprietary information systems and data.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, with a focus on AWS and PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, Lambda, etc.
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL database administration and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux
• Shell scripting (bash, awk, perl, python)
• Experience with administering job schedulers (SLURM, SGE, etc.)
• Experience with configuration management (Saltstack, Chef, etc.)
