Wedding Planner Student Intern Simply Southern Weddings and Events by
Tara - Chesapeake, VA 23320 Internship SSWEbyTara is a Wedding & Event
planning management, planning, coordination, and design company who is
seeking interns to join our team to learn and grow in the event planning
industry. Responsibilities and Duties Interns will assist the Planning
Team in all aspects of the Wedding and Event planning process, including
but not limited to, Venue and Vendor Research, assisting the Design Team
with implementing design elements, sourcing and ordering shop list
items, looking over crucial wedding details, attending Day of Events,
and assisting the Remembered Events team in all aspects of production.
Day-of-Event Interns will be part of the production and design crew on
the day of events. Responsibilities will range from being a bridal
concierge, setting up and breaking down the event space, assisting in
the coordination of event timeline, as well as any miscellaneous tasks
required on the day of the event. What you will learn during your
internship: * How to meet with prospective clients to find out their
needs & expectations of a wedding planner while clearly explaining your
experience, services, pricing, and what to expect when working with you
- How to efficiently tour a venue prior to a clients wedding for
information gathering purposes & what questions to ask when touring *
What information to request from a client to enable you to efficiently
coordinate wedding details * How to hold a details meeting with a client
and get all information needed to draft planning documents * What
planning documents to make & bring on the wedding day * How to
coordinate with vendors before the wedding & on the wedding day * How to
make a detailed timeline for the entire wedding day, as well as
vendor-specific timelines * How to run a ceremony rehearsal * How to
manage a full cycle wedding day from set up to tear down * How to manage
checklists * How to design timelines Roles & Responsibilities of your
internship: * Taking full ownership of each wedding youre assigned to
lead; acting as you would as an associate planner for those clients *
Act in the role of event assistant on weddings other interns are
assigned as lead * Be available in person & remotely to attend venue
tour and all meetings (client & vendor) related to each wedding youre
assigned to lead * Be available remotely for internal planning meetings
to develop planning documents for each wedding youre assigned to lead *
Be available onsite for rehearsal & full cycle wedding day for each
wedding youre assigned to lead * Be available remotely for consultations
with prospective clients * Serve as an ambassador of the Touch of
Elegance Events & Designs brand to the couple, wedding party, family,
guest & vendors at each wedding you serve (Remember - your reputation is
my reputation) * Be available to travel to all wedding & meeting
locations Other internship details: * Internships are typically 10-20
weeks long and can work around your academic schedule. * Hours vary
dramatically during the length of internship. Some weeks could be as low
as 5 hours where only consultations are taking place and some could be
upwards of 20 hours on event weeks. * This internship is UNPAID; we
offer a 50% discount off our Month of Package for those interns who
complete the requirements of the internship. Immediate disqualification
from internship includes: * Any act of disrespect, harassment or the
like towards a client, wedding party member, family member, guest,
vendor, or any member of the SSWEbyTara team * 1 no-call no-show to any
meeting (internal or otherwise) * Calling off on a wedding rehearsal or
wedding day with the exception of an emergency Requirements for

and ambition in the Wedding & Event Planning Industry * A good attitude,

Must own a laptop and have access to the internet to work remotely *
