  • Responsibilities

    The Manager of Clinical Services (Emergency/PreAdmission Testing) is responsible and overseeing for all departmental functions in support of the hospital mission, vision and facility goals. The Manager of Clinical Services (Emergency/PreAdmission Testing) has the responsibility of organizing and directing activities in accordance with nursing standards, Joint Commission standards, Medicare and all other applicable federal, state and local guidelines. The Manager of Clinical Services (Emergency/PreAdmission Testing) identifies the cost-effective systems needed to support the business trends, resource availability and changes in customers. This position effectively establishes working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors. The Manager identifies and remedies variances through continuous customer satisfaction data and employee involvement. The Manager works with Senior Management and the Chief Nursing Officer in meeting facility goals and will function as an ED RN and PreAdmission Testing RN as needed.

    Required Skills

    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred
    • Minimum 2-5 years experience in an Emergency/PreAdmission Testing Department or hospital setting preferred
    • 2-3 years experience in management/leadership in a hospital setting
    • Current Texas Nursing License
    • Current BLS, ACLS and PALS required
    • TNCC or CEN certification preferred
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Good organizational habits; ability to adapt to change quickly
    • Excellent leadership skills
    • Strong knowledge base relative to emergency nursing care, laboratory testing and conscious sedation procedures
    • Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
    • Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
    • Excellent teaching skills
    • Basic knowledge of Performance Improvement methodology

    Required Experience
