    The ENTERPRISE SCHEDULING REGISTRAR (Rehab Dept.) performs all tasks related to patient scheduling and pre-registration of outpatients in an efficient, accurate and hospitable manner to ensure that patient, physician and hospital needs are met.  Job duties include:  Insurance authorization, chart preparation, faxing, filing, and managing the phones.  Engages in performance improvement activities as needed and serves as a communication facilitator for area of responsibility.

    • Good English spelling skills
    • Good English reading and comprehension skills
    • Ability to follow directions as outlined in policies or given by Supervisor
    • Computer Skills / Typing 45 wpm minimum

    Required Experience

    • MUST HAVE A MINIMUM ONE (1) YEAR OF WORK EXPERIENCE IN A DOCTOR’S OFFICE SCHEDULING PATIENTS OR IN HOSPITAL REGISTRATION / ADMITTING
    • Knowledge of Insurance and Authorization process
    • MUST HAVE A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR G.E.D.;  evidence of continuing education preferred
    • Medical terminology or demonstrated proficiency within six months of hire date (via a course or self guided study program)
    • Telephone experience with good phone etiquette
    • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or English and Chinese preferred
