    The ULTRASOUND CLINICAL SUPERVISOR is responsible for oversight of the day to day operations for the Ultrasound Department at the PIH Health, Whittier campus.  The Clinical Supervisor assists the Clinical Manager and Director in performing daily rounds in specified areas while developing performance metrics for continuous monitoring of core department processes. In addition, assists in overseeing the department’s continuous, effective operation and improvement of its activities.  A clear vision with the strategic goals of the hospital is necessary as well as an unwavering focus on the customer/patient.  A constant emphasis on superior performance, value added strategies and a steadfast philosophy for the self-directed actions and staff ownership all characterize the qualities needed for this position.  In addition to overseeing the operations, there is an expectation that the Supervisor will assist clinically when the department volume demands it.

    THIS IS A SUPERVISORY POSITION.

    Required Experience

    • Completion of an accredited course in Sonography
    • RDMS Certified
    • Current Basic Life Support certification
    • Must have seven (7) years of experience in Sonography
    • Must have three (3) years of Sonography experience in an acute care facility
    • Evidence of continuing education
