Under the general supervision of the Director of Clinical Services and the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Scrub Tech is responsible for providing surgical scrub on all types of minor and major surgical procedures dependent on individual competence. Assists the surgical team before, during, and after the surgical procedure.  Provides patient care within the prevailing state standards of practice and according to the policies of the facility. Prepares equipment and supplies prior to the case.  Communicates appropriate information to other team members. Helps maintain equipment, supplies, and general cleanliness of the unit. May have additional responsibilities designated by the manager.

Required Skills

• High school graduate or equivalent
• CST or equivalent experience.  (Certification preferred)
• Current CPR. 
• Demonstrates necessary clinical competency.  
• Follows standards, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for peri-operative nursing care according to accepted standards.
• Maintains and demonstrates current skills and knowledge in aseptic technique, proper scrub technique, cleaning and preparation of equipment, and operating room.
