    VIKING ELECTRIC

    PURCHASING & INVENTORY MANAGER

    MINNEAPOLIS, MN

    This position is responsible for managing the people and processes needed for developing and executing inventory strategy for procurement, demand forecasting, material movement, customer service and inventory effectiveness in alignment with Viking Electric's sales and growth goals.

     

    Other job responsibilities include:

    • Provide leadership and direction to the Materials Team 
    • Create and maintain optimal inventory plans that align with the inventory strategy while reducing non-productive inventory
    • Develop procurement and inventory management strategy with respect to business expansion into new geographies and product segments
    • Optimize the utilization of available technology and systems
    • Establish inventory metrics to support the defined strategy, measure and report metrics as needed for continuous improvement throughout all locations

    Required Experience

    • 3 - 5 years of purchasing and inventory management experience in distribution business preferred
    • 3 - 5 years’ experience managing people required.
