  • Responsibilities

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    Hire and provide orientation and training to staff.

     

    Evaluate employee job performance, counsel, and discipline as necessary.

     

    Conduct team meetings.

     

    Establish and maintain personnel records.

     

    Perform routine payroll duties.

     

    Maintain current policies and procedures for the Surgery Center business office.

     

    Provides direction and is knowledgeable on all aspects of team functions. Front desk operations, Insurance verification, Precertification, Patient Registration, Surgery Scheduling, Patient Charging and Billing, Revenue Cycle Management.

     

    Responsible for the Center’s operations within all legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards as it relates to the business office and medical records department.

     

    Responsible for all patient collections.

     

    Responsible for getting deposit logs and billing packets to the CBO on a daily basis

     

    Responsible for accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information

     

    Responsible for implementing and ensuring that all internal controls are in place

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Limited to essential duties listed above.

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Participate in USPI EDGE Quality Improvement program.

     

    Perform other activities as requested by the Center’s Administrator.

     

     Assume appropriate operational responsibilities as necessary.

     

     Work with other Center employees to ensure smooth and efficient flow of patients through the Center.

     

     Monthly and other reporting activities as required.

     

     Participate in Center’s Performance Improvement / Risk Management and Accreditation teams.

    Required Skills

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATION and EDUCATIONAL AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    Supervisory experience, computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology and coding. Mathematical skills required to calculate percentages, interest, and practical application of account receivables and accounts payable functions. Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills, Word, Excel & Outlook. 

    College degree or equivalent experience in business and or healthcare administration.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Working environment is representative of the essential functions of the job. Physical demands require employee to sit for extended periods of time. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform essential functions.

    OTHER:

    Problem solving and decision making, communication, organizational, and management skills limited to specific accountabilities of the position.

    Required Experience

    2-5 Years in a healthcare organization overseeing Revenue Cycle Management.
