     JOB SUMMARY

    The Pricing Manager is responsible for the management, development, and execution of Irby’s pricing strategies through collaboration with regional sales leadership, branch operations and sales teams. This role will lead a team to develop and execute comprehensive pricing scenarios, determine and maintain price matrices, load customer contracts, and provide analytical data to develop continuous improvement toward pricing behaviors to achieve district sales and billing margin goals and objectives.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Create and implement effective pricing strategies that support the overall company goals.
    • Drive adoption of the pricing strategies within the Utility segment through consultative selling of their value propositions within the organization. 
    • Provide guidance and management to the pricing team to ensure their actions are consistent with overall strategic Pricing objectives.
    • Liaise with the Sonepar Pricing team and other Sonepar US operating companies to discover best practices and training methods.
    • Develop a formal written pricing procedure for publication within the organization.
    • Identify and target areas for improvement based on team, customer, and salesperson behavior.
    • Analyze/manage pricing execution, to include data integrity and consistency.
    • Comply with Special Pricing Agreements (SPAs) reporting requirements.
    • Monitor pricing overrides and recommend corrective actions.
    • Develop and facilitate the education of the sales force on methods for and consequences of margin improvement.
    • Identify, create, and maintain pricing matrices within regions, districts, and/or individual branches.
    • Provide analytical pricing support for districts/regions as needed.
    • Review and manage pricing entries as requested by sales force or as needed.
    • Coordinate pricing information from vendors and other sources to determine market level pricing.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

    • Experience with regional/market-level pricing in the field of distribution.
    • Fundamental understanding in pricing structures and techniques.
    • Experience managing a team.
    • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to multitask and set priorities.
    • Ability to articulate the value proposition of and coach other associates through the pricing process.
    • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and at least four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • 2 years + recent experience operating powered industrial trucks (forklifts) required.
    • Must be able to climb in/out of the forklift on a frequent basis throughout the work shift. There is one step up/down into/out of the cab of the forklift
    • Must be able to walk around throughout the shipping/receiving bays; surfaces are mostly concrete
    • Must be able to perform pushing/pulling activities when performing work activities
    • Must be able to bend throughout the work shift; majority of bending occurs

    in a slight forward bend for brief periods of times. This may be performed on a repetitive basis

    • Must be able to reach between waist and shoulder height which occurs on a continuous basis. Reaching overhead and below waist level occurs on an occasional basis.
    • Must have the ability to work in a high paced and multi-task environment
    • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
    • Overtime will be required as necessary including weekends. Graphic Packaging International operates on a 24 hour, 7 day/week basis.
