    Job Description

    TAX MANAGER

    We are searching for a detail-oriented and success-driven Tax Manager to become an integral part of our team. As a Tax Manager, you are responsible for leading and managing multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax services. This position requires the ability to recognize, evaluate and communicate potential tax issues and planning opportunities. You will serve as a business advisor to our tax clients with the goal of maximizing engagements and achieving quality outcomes. The right candidate will utilize his or her educational background, work experience, communication, and organizational skills in analyzing tax positions, conducting tax research, reviewing tax returns, and managing tax staff.     Responsibilities include:

    • Preparation and/or review of individual, business (partnerships and corporations), and Trust and Estate income tax returns

    • Preparation and/or review of other mandatory tax filings

    • Preparation and/or review of tax projections for individuals and business entities

    • Have knowledge of multi-state apportionment, sales tax, nexus issues, and other complex tax matters

    • Manage and handle Federal, state, and local tax audits

    • Develop and maintain strong client relationships

    • Promote company’s services to existing and prospective clients

    • Supervise and mentor staff

    • Manage productivity and efficiency standards

    • Assist business managers and bookkeepers as needed

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • CPA license, juris doctorate or master’s degree in Tax

    • 5+ years of management/supervisory experience

    • 10+ years of experience in preparation and/or review of income tax returns

    • Prior public accounting work experience in a CPA firm or business management firm

    • Proficiency with CCH ProSystem fx and/or CCH Access Tax

    • Proficiency with BNA income tax planner and QuickBooks

    • Experience and proficiency with Datafaction/AgilLink accounting software is a plus

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.…)

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Excellent organizational skills with a bias towards efficiency

    • Excellent time management, judgement, poise, and professionalism
