POSITION SUMMARY:

You are a mature and authentic person, with strong EQ sensibilities and have a demonstrated track record of success adapting your recruiting expertise across a variety of challenging roles. Your experience as a recruiter is fueled by your passion to build and be a part of a team that maintains a high technical bar and prioritizes an inter-disciplinary and collaborative work environment. The impact of your efforts will be instrumental in our growth as you execute on ambitious hiring plans, rapidly scaling our organization.

You will adeptly lead Hiring Managers through the Talent Acquisition process and help create structure out of ambiguous environments. Your long-term focus will be building out our manufacturing and commercial teams but you will initially work on a variety of R&D roles from entry to senior level.

This role offers flexible working arrangements that include a mix of in-office facetime/relationship-building time with managers and home office-based recruiting. However, the role will be based in San Diego at our corporate headquarters.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Source candidates through networking, employee referrals, job boards, social media presence ad searches, career fairs, internet research and direct contact.
• As the candidate advocate, guide candidates thorough the recruiting process, including evaluation of skills and expertise, the interview process and salary negotiation
• Develop, research and identify prospective talent providing a pipeline of qualified candidates.
• Act as a strategic partner to hiring managers for job opening requirements and coach managers how to be more effective in the hiring process.
• Develop and manage a strategy for University Relations and develop a talent pipeline of strong entry level candidates in STEM fields.
• Document and evaluate the recruiting and candidate interview process.
• Negotiate and/or support hiring managers in developing and extending new hire offers.
• Conduct all interactions with the utmost diplomacy and tact. Maintain confidentiality and treat others with conscientious respect.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A Bachelors degree and 3-5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience. 
• Extensive actionable knowledge of the talent and recruiting landscape.
• Ideally, experience in a fast-paced, hyper-growth company.
• Biotech domain expertise
• Deep proficiencies with the following recruiting systems: LinkedIn, ATS, external technical screening systems, Docusign, Outlook 365 scheduling, Zoom, Google Scholar, Stack Overflow, and other search platforms. Greenhouse experience is a big plus.
• Experience in a regulated environment is a plus.
• Familiarity with the California Fair Pay Act and its application to the Talent Acquisition process.
• Must be passionate about continued learning and personal development and self-motivated.
