SUMMARY

This position is responsible for supporting production by assembling electronics and cells into battery packs in accordance with customer requirements. The technician will be taking battery cells and soldering them to circuit boards to make a completed battery pack. This position requires a high quality and attention to detail. The Battery Pack Technician will also be responsible to maintaining a clean and organized work environment in accordance with 5S standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Perform manual assembly of cells to circuitry and assembly preparation and finishing. Soldering of fine pitch surface mount electronic components and use of electronic test equipment. Test product to ensure conformance to specifications. Troubleshoot and rework assembly and testing issues as needed. Inspect finished product per documentation and note issues and defects. Support and work with engineering when needed. Suggest improvements for manufacturability. Maintain floor inventory of electronic components and supplies. Coordinate with management and team to determine deadlines for assigned tasks. Perform regular inspections of work environment and procedures to ensure area is safe and documentation is up to date. Maintain a team oriented work environment.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma required, associate’s degree preferred. At least 2 years’ experience assembling electronic hardware and equipment.  

REQUIREMENTS: 

A working knowledge of electronic circuitry and ability to read schematics. Ability to do fine-pitch soldering and rework. Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math. Must have valid driver’s license and a good driving record.  Must possess good computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Ability to lift 30 lbs. Strong organization skills a must. 

Strong communication skills and a team player. Wear appropriate PPE when necessary.
