    Industrial Project Manager

     

    Requirements:

    • Receive and review engineering information packages for proper constructability and completeness.
    • Integrate multiple engineering information packages and develop construction plans and other deliverables for the field and supervision.
    • Ensure engineering information files and drawing files are maintained.
    • Develop material takeoffs and write requisitions.
    • OSHA 10 & 30 Training preferred.
    • Direct interface with Owner & Engineers.
    • Industrial Construction Estimating skills.
    • Construction Cost Management skill, including change orders.
    • Material take-off, purchasing and expediting.
    • Manage construction labor.
    • Partners with and manages contractors on the site and understand strengths and weaknesses of contractors.
    • Subcontractor bid package writing.
    • Coordinate construction projects and resources across projects to improve efficiency.
    • Read and interpret construction specifications.
    • Computer scheduling.
    • Capable of handling multiple projects.
    • Constructability & strategy leadership.
    • Organization, documentation skills through project punch list and turnover.
    • Industry practices and procedures.
    • Collaboration and team building skills.
    • Problem solving & negotiating skills.
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
    • Oversees project implementation and execution through completion of construction.
    • May manage small, ground-up projects including programming, design, entitlements, bidding, permitting, and construction management.
    • Business Development
    • May perform business development activities including but not limited to: assisting with or leading the sourcing, pitching, and securing of new business and projects within local markets.
    • Participates periodically in client meetings or business development presentations as part of a Team to help demonstrate our capabilities. Assists with the development of marketing materials and support information/data. Maintains a working knowledge of business unit’s available product and service offerings.

    • Ensure to take appropriate planning measures with all clients to reassess, clarify and amend scope of work responsibilities, proposals, contracts and budgets.
    • Ensure to convey required project data and information to project teams.
    • Prepare and present regular internal and external project reports for management.
    • Performs all aspects of project management including scope, cost, schedule, and resource allocation that enhance operational effectiveness

     

    Qualifications

    • BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited college required.
    • 2+ years applicable experience in a manufacturing support, project engineering, or machine design role preferred.
    • Professional Skills: A successful candidate will be able to connect with all levels of the organization.
    • Role Specific Competencies: Experience using Six Sigma or similar processes for solving problems. This position requires extensive use of computer equipment. Must have a demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft business software to include Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
    • Special Requirements: Position is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee at Sanofi’s corporate office. This position may require some travel.
    • The ideal candidate should have a B.S. in Engineering or Construction Management, with 5 to 7 years of Industrial Construction experience.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management and organizational skills are required.
    • Proficient at managing projects up to 25k RSF. May assume responsibility up to 75k RSF.
    • Builds and carries out marketing and development initiatives to best deliver results to existing and potential clients.
    • Oversees capital improvement/asset preservation programs with design and construction processes at multiple sites through local resources, with minimal oversight.
    • Develops or assists in developing project budget including hard and soft costs.
    • Begins to manage or assists in managing project budgets for subject properties and maintain monthly forecasts and cash flow analysis.
    • Assists in or may be responsible for project scheduling and project decisions based upon owners’ objectives which may include, but is not limited to: site improvements, entitlements, permits, consultant selection; design team management, schedule creation and management, contractor selection and management, financial management including cash flows, anticipated cost reports and monthly reports.
    • Maintains client relationships and may assist in or manages conflict resolution.
    • Provides appropriate level of on-site supervision to ensure project performance criteria are being met.
    • Develops relationships with consultants/contractors/vendors and evaluate their performance.
    • Operates independently on activities relevant to project. Defers policy issues and employment related issues to higher management levels.
